The setup of the Double or Nothing 2023 main event progressed on this week’s AEW Dynamite via a Four Pillars tournament announcement. In the opening segment of the show, where Jungle Boy Jack Perry, Sammy Guevara, and Darby Allin made claim to be the next challenger for MJF. The reigning world champion in AEW, MJF came out and proposed the Four Pillar tournament idea. Allin got the bye to the final round.

Later on AEW Dynamite, MJF told Sammy that he wanted him to advance to the Double or Nothing title match so that Guevara could digest the loss to him. Sammy wasn’t obviously interested in the idea but then MJF fed him with a blank check and Sammy was ready for the job.

Moving on in the main event match of AEW Dynamite, Sammy Guevara advanced in the Four Pillar tournament as he defeated “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry via count-out. As a result, he will face Darby Allin in the final of the tournament, next week to decide MJF’s opponent at Double or Nothing 2023.

MJF got involved in the match finish as he used the Dynamite Diamond Ring to punch Jungle Boy while Guevara was distracting the referee. Perry was knocked out and he failed to get back into the ring within the referee’s ten-count As a result, Sammy got the win and got himself booked in a match with Allin.

Toughest Title defense set for Jade Cargill

Speaking of next week, a mega title match has been booked on AEW Dynamite which should be Jade Cargill’s toughest title defense, to date. Since winning the TBS Title back in January of 2022, Jade has been enjoying an undefeated streak but now she will put her title on the line to the veteran Taya Valkyrie. This match was initially speculated for Double or Nothing but it got preponed.

The April 26 episode of AEW Dynamite takes place at the FLA Live Arena in Sunrise, Florida and the match card for the show goes as follows:

– TBS Championship: Jade Cargill (c) vs. Taya Valkyrie
– Four Pillar Tournament Final: Sammy Guevara vs. Darby Allin (Winner to face MJF for AEW World Heavyweight Championship at Double or Nothing)
