AEW Dynasty 2024 pay-per-view event had an AEW TBS Championship match set on the card featuring Julia Hart defending her title against Willow Nightingale. Going into the PPV event, rumors were out regarding Hart possibly dealing with a shoulder injury which expectedly cut the match short. This should also be viewed as the reason why Hart ultimately ended up losing the belt to Willow.

After Willow won the title at AEW Dynasty 2024, Mercedes Mone came out to the ring for a face-to-face confrontation with her. Mone already declared herself to be the new number-one contender for the TBS Title before Dynasty’s scheduled bout. Soon after the confrontation, it was announced that Mone will now challenge Willow for the title at AEW Double or Nothing.

Going by the reports, Mone was the favorite to pick up the debuting title but she injured her ankle during the match.

Following the injury, the match finish was changed as Nightingale won it to become the first-ever NJPW Strong Women’s Champion. She then held the title for 45 days before losing it to Giulia. Since coming to AEW, Mone has always shared her intention to go after Willow and this bout was eventually confirmed at AEW Dynasty 2024.

Willow’s win at AEW Dynasty 2024 also marked the beginning of her first championship reign one of her All Elite Wrestling career as she ended Hart’s 155-day run that featured seven successful title defenses. She has now also become the fourth TBS Champion counting Kris Statlander and current WWE star Jade Cargill.

In another title match from AEW Dynasty 2024, “Timeless” Toni Storm defeated Thunder Rosa to continue her reign as AEW Women’s World Champion. Multiple interferences were done in the form of Mariah May on the side of Storm which was finally neutralized by Deonna Purrazzo. The distraction allowed Storm to capitalize and hit a low blow, retaining her title with Storm Zero after the 15-minute bout was over.
