AEW Grand Slam 2023: Sammy Guevera vs. Chris Jericho to take place?
During the Wednesday night taping of tonight’s Rampage episode, it was revealed that Sammy Guevara will square off against Chris Jericho at AEW Grand Slam 2023. The segment is yet to be aired on WWE TV but spoilers suggest that the announcement for this match will come after a confrontation between Guevara and Jericho.
It will be the former WWE Superstar who proposed a match with Sammy to resolve their issues before pursuing the AEW Tag Team Titles. For a long time, Sammy was a part of the Jericho Appreciation Society which has been ripped apart in recent times. Now, Sammy will get the chance to share the stage with the veteran on a big stage.
As noted above, MJF is set to headline the AEW Grand Slam 2023 episode with his next title defense while his next opponent is yet to be revealed. A world title eliminator tournament is going on that will culminate during the next episode of Dynamite to determine the challenger of MJF. Going by the ongoing storylines, Samoa Joe should be the next in line to challenge MJF.
Also, Women’s World Champion Saraya will go through her first title defense at AEW Grand Slam 2023. Saraya’s Outcasts teammate Toni Storm will take on Britt Baker, Hikaru Shida, and Nyla Rose in a four-way battle, next week to determine a new number-one contender for the AEW Women’s World Title.
