AEW Owen Hart tournament is back with its 2023 edition where top stars of the company will compete for future championship opportunities. As seen on Dynamite, the full card for the tournament both for the men’s and women’s roster has been revealed.
Men’s Owen Hart tournament begins this Sunday night at Forbidden Door 2023 where CM Punk will take on former IWGP Heavyweight Champion Satoshi Kojima at the pay-per-view set for June 25 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2023: Spoiler On Confirmed Match Outcomes At PPV
The first-round matches will continue on the June 29 edition of AEW Collision in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada where Dustin Rhodes, Samoa Joe, and Bullet Club Gold’s Juice Robinson will consecutively face Powerhouse Hobbs, Roderick Strong, and Ricky Starks. The bracket shows that Joe vs. Punk dream match could be happening in the second round if these two can win their respective first-round matches.
AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2023: Toni Storm Set For Championship Defense
The eight-woman bracket for this year’s Owen Hart Tournament has also been revealed on AEW Dynamite which features last year’s winner, Britt Baker, finalist Ruby Soho, Anna Jay, Skye Blue, Nyla Rose, NJPW Strong Women’s Champion Willow Nightingale, ROH Women’s Champion Athena, and Billie Starkz.
The first match of the 2023 Owen Hart Tournament will begin on this week’s Rampage where Jay will be facing off against Blue. First-round matches will continue on AEW Collision, this Saturday where Rose and Nightingale will be having a face-off. Athena vs. Starkz is scheduled for the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door Zero Hour segment. The final first-round match will go down in the form of Baker vs. Soho on Dynamite which is the same lineup from last year’s tournament finale.
It’s been announced that the rest of the match of the 2023 Owen Hart Tournament will continue throughout AEW’s Canada tour over the coming weeks following Forbidden Door 2023. Britt Baker was the winner of the women’s tourney, last year while her real-life boyfriend Adam Cole won the men’s counterpart.
