Before losing at AEW Revolution 2023, Omega and The Young Bucks had been the holder of the AEW Trios Championships since the January 11 edition of AEW Dynamite. The Elite defeated Death Triangle in a best-of-seven series to become the new champions as well as the only two-time trios champions.

Omega and The Young Bucks were the first ever AEW World Trios Champions as they won the belts at the AEW All Out 2022 pay-per-view, but on that same night, they headed to a hiatus due to backstage altercations. Hence, they later had to vacate the titles following the pay-per-view event.

His first reign started in July 2022 and Joe was the one to end it at Full Gear 2022.

The new TNT Champion already has a title defense set for the March 8 episode of AEW Dynamite as he will be going up against Powerhouse Hobbs for the title. Hobbs earned a TNT Championship opportunity by winning the Face of the Revolution ladder match on the March 1 episode of Dynamite. He overcame the likes of Eddie Kingston, Ortiz, AR Fox, Sammy Guevara, Action Andretti, Konosuke Takeshita, and Komander in that match.

Before dropping the belt at AEW Revolution 2023, Joe had held the TNT Title since defeating then-champion Darby Allin on the February 1 episode of AEW Dynamite. It was his second reign as the champion while his first reign lasted from November 2022 through January 2023.
