Ruthless Aggression era in the WWE mostly had eye candy female performers on the roster and Maria Kanellis topped all of them. She was not the greatest in-ring performer of the bunch but her popularity was unmatched which also took her to cover of the Playboy magazine, the last of WWE’s kind.

Since joining All Elite Wrestling back in 2022, Maria Kanellis has been acting as a manager and hasn’t wrestled a match in the company. She was last seen in competition in the summer of 2019, when she and her husband Mike Bennett lost a mixed tag team match to Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins.

However, that was barely a wrestling match for the former female WWE talent as she didn’t take any bumps due to future pregnancy. The good thing for her fans is that Maria Kanellis revealed she hadn’t shut the door regarding having one last match. Talking to Monopoly Events, she revealed a few choices to be in her mind that she might consider getting into the ring with.

Maria Kanellis wants to wrestle top AEW female stars in one final match

“It’s tough because there’s been a few women in AEW that have asked. I think Deonna would be a good choice. I think, gosh, Queen Aminata has said ‘Come on. We’re both mothers. Let’s do this.’ I think Queen is just such an inspiration, and I think that would be an awesome [match]. Toni [Storm], for sure,” Maria Kanellis revealed her daughter’s wish to see her wrestling in a match.

“There’s too many, there’s just a lot. And it’s tough, because my daughter, she wants to see me wrestle one more time. And so, at some point, maybe I’ll do it. But I can’t guarantee it’ll be good.” (quotes courtesy Wrestling INC)

Taking to Instagram at the very beginning of February 2024, Maria Kanellis informed her fans that she had been dealing with Thyroid problems for a long time and that it needed to be taken care of. The First Lady of professional wrestling also mentioned how having a family and then the COVID-19 pandemic pushed back a surgery that she’s still recovering from.

After managing her husband and different other names throughout her WWE and indie stints, Maria Kanellis was last seen in the role of a manager in Ring of Honor, trying to elevate the careers of Griff Garrison and Cole Karter but her absence from TV negatively affected the process.
