Being one of the most popular superstars in the current WWE locker room, Alexa Bliss’ long absence was duly noticed by the fans. Amid no proper reason being given behind the hiatus, fans were really worried about her WWE future. Now after her pregnancy announcement, they were further assured about the continuation of her WWE career as a mother.
In a recent interview with The Messenger, Alexa Bliss revisited the short timespan on TV in January 2023. She revealed that WWE extended her contract earlier in 2023, at a point when she took a hiatus from the company’s TV programming to participate in The Masked Singer competition. This was the reason that she missed Wrestlemania 39 but in return, she got to experience something new.

Alexa Bliss also went on to reveal that she plans on returning to the squared circle following her pregnancy,
“WWE gave me time off for [Masked Singer] to kind of fully dive into that experience with rehearsals, vocal lessons, and all that stuff. Storyline-wise, I was not on TV anyway, so it really kind of worked out perfectly. [WWE] extended my contract, and so it’s just basically come back when I’m ready. Probably a month after the baby, I’ll start probably getting back into the gym, and getting ready to see what my in-ring return looks like.”

Alexa Bliss to become a mother by the end of 2023
As per the news broken, earlier this week via an Instagram post, Alexa Bliss is due to give birth to her first baby with husband Ryan Cabrera in December. In case she starts training soon after the arrival of her baby, her return to the ring can’t be ruled out in time for WrestleMania 40.
Alexa Bliss was last seen in a wrestling capacity as she challenged Bianca Belair at the Royal Rumble for the Raw Women’s Championship and came up short. During that championship angle, she was simultaneously involved in a storyline with Uncle Howdy, via various vignettes and happenings on Raw. The segments hinted at the former women’s champion crossing paths with her old ally Bray Wyatt.
But those plans were dropped after Alexa Bliss wanted the time off on the Road to Wrestlemania 39. Wyatt was also written off television weeks before the show of shows and there’s no update on when he could be back in action.
