2020 was a memorable year for the women’s division and especially Asuka who was literally in charge of the Raw brand following Becky Lynch’s maternity hiatus. Bayley might have topped PWI’s list of women wrestlers, while Sasha Banks took the Slammy Award home, the workhorse was someone different, going by the statistics.

Asuka topped an even more impressive list where she accomplished the best an in-ring competitor can ask for. Redditor omgitzjay28 posted a list of top 10 superstars in WWE who worked the most number of matches in WWE. The data was received from CageMatch shows that the Raw Women’s Champion topped that list with 64 matches by her name in 2020.

He performed in 58 matches while former United States Champion Ricochet is standing behind him in the third position as he competed in 55.

It should be noted that most of those matches happened on TV as WWE was away from house shows in 2020 because of the coronavirus pandemic. Odds are those live event tours are not coming back in the regular fashion, at all. With that being said, the total number of matches in a year for Asuka or any other Superstar will be limited from now onwards.

This is why Asuka has topped the list by participating in only 64 matches while WWE Superstars often used to wrestle over 100 matches by the end of a year. The Empress of Tomorrow also won roughly 60% of her 2020 matches as per the stats. It was an eventful year for the Japanese superstar where she consistently featured on TV in 2020. She also closed the year as the Raw Women’s Champion as well as one-half of the Women’s Tag Team Champions.
