Asuka has been running things on Raw for the entire time since Becky Lynch had left the scene in May. While Bayley and Sasha Banks had an illustrious rivalry back in the summer with her, the fall of 2020 witnessed a drought in terms of a challenger for the reigning champion. Even now, no formidable opponents could be found for her.

This past Sunday at Elimination Chamber 2021 pay-per-view, Asuka was supposed to defend the RAW Women’s Championship against Lacey Evans (with Ric Flair by her side). But obviously, that match couldn’t take place due to Evans’ pregnancy. With WrestleMania 37 approaching closer, the question remains which opponent WWE could choose for the champion, though.

As per the reports from WWFOldSchool.com, Asuka was expected to retain the Title against Lacey but the challenger wasn’t supposed to leave the Title picture, either. The source informs that they have been told that WWE officials have been discussing a multi-woman RAW Women’s Championship match at WrestleMania 37.

Potential Wrestlemania 37 match for Asuka

The participants for this match could have been Asuka, Lacey Evans, Charlotte Flair (since The Queen has been involved in separate angles with Evans and Asuka), and possibly Rhea Ripley so that a Fatal 4 Way match could be produced. With Evans out of the equation, the possibility is that WWE could now be going for a Triple Threat Match.

As WrestleMania 37 is going to be a two-night event, WWE has been discussing some big-time matchup including a rematch between Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley. These two tore the house down, last year but perhaps WWE won’t go after the repetitive matchup. Besides, Rhea Ripley is yet to make her official main roster debut, too.

Speaking of Asuka, she took a stiff shot in the face from Shayna Baszler on RAW, last week. That resulted in the champion losing out a tooth, on the spot. According to PW Insider, Asuka was checked after she arrived backstage. No real injury update was provided about her except for the fact, that she legit, broke a tooth.

“Asuka was checked by WWE medical after returning backstage. We have not been able to confirm yet whether she was diagnosed with an injury.”
