In the peak moment of her career, Becky Lynch had to take time off WWE programming. It happened at a moment when she was the longest-reigning Raw Women’s Champion of all time. Shortly after WrestleMania 36, she became pregnant with her and Seth Rollins’ first child, Roux. All of a sudden, she was forced to go into a hiatus from the most lovable job and that wasn’t a pleasant experience, at all.
Years later, Becky Lynch has opened up about that pregnancy and postpartum experience which indeed forced her to have some tough times after giving birth. That personal journey was a first-ever-time experience for her which appeared to be exciting and painful at the same time. It was hard for the top WWE Superstar to be away from the squared circle for such a long period.

Becky Lynch entered an unprecedented dark phase in life
During a candid interview with People, Becky Lynch opened up on the chapter that unfolded during her pregnancy period. The postpartum period went dark for her and she was really unable to understand what was actually needed to overcome the issues. Most notably, it happened despite THE MAN having a great family to support her,
“And then it kind of got really, really dark for a few months and I was in a really bad spot. It was kind of one of those things where you’re trying to pull yourself out of it, because you know mentally, ‘God, I’ve got a great life. I’ve got a great husband. I’ve got a great baby, and I’m doing this thing at the highest level that I love.’ But no reasoning with yourself was able to overcome that level of depression.”

Becky Lynch was helped by a colleague who experienced postpartum depression
Becky Lynch admitted to not being aware of the post-partum depression until she experienced it firsthand. She was also informed in the interview to get helped by another mother in WWE recognized who got to know about the difficulties in life in that phase. That unnamed colleague also went through a similar experience following pregnancy,
“Thankfully, somebody that we all know — I won’t put her on the spot — she told me what was happening because it had happened to her”
The 2019 Royal Rumble winner then admittedly tried meditation, supplements, and acupuncture to help herself from the situation and gradually came out of it.
Becky Lynch decided to have an extended break from the ring in 2020 and it continued until 2021 to raise her daughter, Roux, for more than six months before finally coming back to the road in SummerSlam 2021. However, challenges also arrived after she stopped breastfeeding. Thankfully, she had overcome the traumatic period and has since been performing at the highest level.
