The tag team of Big Cass and Enzo Amore was quite a popular one amongst the NXT Universe. They used to pull off more cheers from the crowd more than anybody on the roster that led them getting included into the main roster, quickly.
If they were scheduled to stay more times on NXT, they would have become one of the most popular tag team champions of all time.
For their sake, the crowd accepted the duo well on the main roster, too and their popularity reached the top in no time. Both of them had better mic skills that worked in their favor, as well.
However, due to The New Day holding on to the tag team championships for the better part of 2016 did not allow them to become tag champs on Raw.
The partnership did not end well, though as Big Cass turned his back on Enzo Amore at the bygone summer season to go solo. This led to a heated feud between these two unevenly matches up superstars.
The seven-footer superstar came up as the winner, quite easily, to go ahead and receive a push.
But, a huge roadblock waited for him down the road as he ruptured his knee badly during a match on Raw. He landed badly on the mat on his knee to shatter it and get sidelined, post-Summerslam.
After the initial diagnosis, he was forced to undergo a surgery and was taken off the WWE TV for an indefinite time.
Currently, Cass is recovering from the torn ACL in his knee and getting ready for the inevitable return on Raw. The question is how long it will take to complete the rehab sessions and getting fit.
An interview with Sam Roberts’ Wrestling Podcast might have been able to answer this question.
The injured superstar was asked by the journalist about the potential returning schedule when he quoted the following:
“I’m in way better spirits than I was back in Barclays Center, that’s for sure. I’m right on schedule, from what the surgeon said. So, it should be shortly after WrestleMania”.
As per the earlier predictions, it will take him more than six months to get back into wrestling shape. So, there’s no way that he might be back-in-time to work at the biggest stage of them all.
