Proving the earlier speculations right, Brock Lesnar went into a hiatus from WWE programming following Elimination Chamber. Earlier to this in the fall of 2021, WWE used a storyline suspension to write him off television for the time being. There’s no update on his comeback although a rematch against Roman Reigns is confirmed. Reports also claim that the Wrestlemania rematch could be the main event of the Show of Shows.
On the October 29 episode of SmackDown, Drew McIntyre defeated Mustafa Ali via Submission, by using the Kimura Lock (a maneuver that is mostly used by Lesnar on WWE programming). This was something unique on WWE TV and the current belief is that a future matchup is a reason behind the finish.

According to the reports of Wrestling Observer, this move was specifically done to plant seeds for another Drew McIntyre vs. Brock Lesnar matchup.
“There was significance in Drew McIntyre using the Kimura (Brock Lesnar’s submission move) on Mustafa Ali on SmackDown.”
Brock Lesnar vs. Drew McIntyre feud in the pipeline?
McIntyre vs. Lesnar was the headliner of Wrestlemania 36 where McIntyre slayed The Beast within 5 minutes to win his maiden WWE Championship. Following McIntyre’s Royal Rumble win, this match was a highly anticipated bout but it got ruined due to zero fans in attendance due to COVID-19 being at its peak, back then.
So, a rematch between the two can be expected for all the rightful reasons. During an appearance on WWE’s The Bump last month, McIntyre also openly admitted that he’d like an opportunity to face Brock Lesnar, again this time in front of the fans. Following his trade on Smackdown, McIntyre is possibly moving into the main event picture and hence the former Universal Champion could be his next target.
Brock Lesnar was not happy after getting scr**ed by The Usos during his match at WWE Crown Jewel against Roman Reigns. The next night on SmackDown, he arrived and unleashed chaos on the show by delivering a beatdown on the Tribal Chief and his cousins.
In addition, Brock Lesnar had also dared to put his hands on the WWE Officials which resulted in his suspension, ruled by Adam Pearce. Not only the top superstar was suspended by the WWE, but he will also have to pay a lucrative $1 million amount as a fine as per the repercussions of his ruthless actions.
Later on, The Beast returned to capture the WWE Title on two separate occasions as he’s now set for a collision course with WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania 38.
