Professional Wrestling Legend “Brother Love” Bruce Prichard recently talked about the controversial ending of WrestleMania IX and how “The Hitman” Bret Hart reacted after the end of the event.
WrestleMania IX is considered as one of the worst WrestleMania in the history of the WWE. Some fans and critics even consider it the worst ever Wrestlemania. Of course event had some memorable moments. It was the first ever WrestleMania to be held outdoors and the first match of the event between Tatanka and Shawn Michaels was pretty good. But that was it.

Bruce Prichard Reveals How Bret Hart Reacted After WrestleMania IX
This WrestleMania is mostly remembered because of the terrible main event booking. Yokozuna defeated the WWE Champion of that time Bret Hart to Grab the title. After the end of the match, Hulk Hogan came out and challenged Yokozuna for the title instantly. Undefeated Yokozuna in only 22 seconds to grab the title.
This booking decision proved that WWE believed more in Hulk Hogan’s star power than the other wrestlers. The decision had been criticised terribly. Fans hated it. Yokozuna was being built as the most destructive man on earth, and he was beaten in only 22 seconds. This did not make any sense at all.
It has been confirmed by a lot of wrestlers in time to time that Bret Hart did not like to lose his matches. It would not be very difficult to predict how Bret would have reacted after the end of the event. Bruce Prichard recently spoke on Something To Wrestle podcast where he revealed how Bret reacted about this match. He said;

“Bret was upset. No doubt about it. I don’t remember when Vince had the talk with Bret – it probably was the night before because we hadn’t really made the decision until the day before. There was a lot going back and forth. ‘Is this the right thing to do? What should we do?’ I think Vince going with his gut, we did what we eventually did.
“As far as the [Yokozuna] match going shorter, that was a timing issue. The show had gone long, and we were to the point where to make sure we got everything in, some of the time was cut off on that and they got that midway through. That was a Vince call at the time. It was communicated while they were in the ring.

“You had to be careful to make sure you got everything on the air back in those days because whatever time it was, you had your three or four hour window and you had to be off at 55 minutes into the hour so they could rewind the tapes for replays.
“It wasn’t the way things are now. That’s why we kind of rushed the match, and I regret it because I think Bret could’ve had a hell of a match with Yoko, and he has had great matches with Yoko.”
