ToggleCarmella portrays an interesting character on WWE television since the very beginning days on the main roster. Without any traditional wrestling skills unavailable by her name, it was an easy creative pitch for her to go for a bonafide heel-ish who doesn’t think twice before berating the babyfaces.
That super confidence also helped Carmella in becoming a multi-time champion in the WWE. Besides, it appears that the WWE character also helped her in walking the ramp while being pregnant, a few weeks ago.
For those who aren’t aware, The Princess of Staten Island participated in the 2023 Miami Swim Week, last month. While this could be a cakewalk for her in earlier times, she had to carry the belly bump during the walk which raises concerns. Thankfully, he had prior experiences with her TV character from WWE to go through the tough job.

Carmella felt nervous before Miami Swim Week walk
While speaking with Fox News, Carmella revisited her walk-in Miami Swim Week. She admittedly had doubts about a smooth walk was initially doubtful due to her pregnant condition and the fact that she would be walking with much younger models. But eventually, she realized that she can do whatever she wants to do and all she had to do was to channel her inner WWE character who is super strong.
“They’re probably 15 years younger than I am. … That’s when the doubt started creeping in. And then I was like, no, I’m not going to let my mind trick me into thinking that I can’t do this… [The day of] I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, what am I doing?” she continued.
“I had to snap out of it. I had to channel my inner Carmella, my WWE character, who is super … overconfident. I had to channel that energy and just be like, who cares? What do I have to lose?”
Carmella became a champion in WWE in 2018
As stated above, Carmella never had the traditional wrestling talent but rather she had to learn those skills after transforming into a wrestler on Smackdown. A year later of her debut, she became the inaugural Money in the Bank winner and then the Smackdown Women’s Champion which remained the greatest accomplishment of her career.
Besides wrestling stints, Carmella also featured in WWE’s Total Divas reality TV series before getting her own series on YouTube with her husband, Corey Graves.
