Charlotte Flair is well-known for her mainstream attention for her non-WWE-related works in the past. That will continue when she features in a movie based on professional wrestling. Apart from the Smackdown roster member, WWE Raw’s Liv Morgan, who is also known for her TV work, will also be accompanying the bonafide women’s champion in that movie.

Fightful Select was the first outlet to break the news that Charlotte Flair and Liv Morgan have been cast in an upcoming film based on Jeff Leen’s book Queen of the Ring. The project will revolve around women’s wrestling pioneer Mildred Burke, and the filming is scheduled to begin this June in Kentucky.

Charlotte Flair has been cast in the movie as WWE Hall of Famer June Byers, while Liv Morgan will play the role of Clara Mortensen. Interestingly, both these superstars are currently out of action from WWE TV and time will tell whether this filming process will eventually extend their hiatus.

Emily Bett Rickards will play the role of Burke, Josh Lucas will be portraying a wrestling promoter, and Burke’s husband, Billy Wolfe, while Marie Avgeropoulos will portray wrestler Wilma “Babe” Gordon. Interestingly, this film was revealed earlier this month by AEW announcer Jim Ross, who is also supposed to get involved in some capacity.

Charlotte Flair went into a hiatus from WWE after Wrestlemania 39

Charlotte Flair dropped her WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship to Rhea Ripley at Wrestlemania 39 and went into a hiatus despite coming back from a long time off in late 2022. While nothing concrete behind the hiatus was mentioned, she was set to fulfill one of her goals in a bodybuilding competition. Plus, The Queen also had a wish of traveling more with her husband Andrade El Idolo.

In 2022, Charlotte Flair took a leave of absence from WWE Backlash on May 8, all the way until the December 30 episode of SmackDown which was the longest of her WWE career. On that return night, she defeated Ronda Rousey to win the Smackdown Women’s Championship.

Speaking of the blue brand women’s title, Liv Morgan defeated Rousey, earlier that year. Most recently, she had to drop the Women’s Tag Team Titles due to an injury. If surgery is required then she’s likely to stay out of WWE TV for a long time.
