After a few months’ hiatus from TV, Charlotte Flair is back on WWE Smackdown where she belongs. Despite the fans and talents’ complaints, she’s been inserted into the championship picture. A reported title match opportunity will reportedly be waiting for her at Summerslam 2023 and she’s patiently waiting for the announcement.

As seen on this week’s episode of Friday Night Smackdown from Raleigh, North Carolina, Charlotte Flair first had a confrontation with the former Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair over who would be the first one to get a shot at the current champion Asuka.

Moving on in the show, Charlotte Flair sat in the crowd to watch the main event for the WWE Women’s Championship between The EST of the WWE and Asuka. Women’s Money in the Bank holder IYO SKY and Bayley were also nearby, teasing a possible Money in the Bank cash-in. During the final moments of the match, Bianca Belair hit her KOD finisher on Asuka onto the announcer’s table.

Bayley then advised IYO SKY to cash in the MITB contract which led Charlotte Flair to get involved in the match and accidentally spearing Belair to cause the disqualification. Ultimately, The Queen stood tall while Asuka used the green mist before escaping the ring. Once the segment was over, The Queen then took to Twitter and posted two gorgeous photos of hers with the caption mentioning her to be ‘The Alpha’.

Triple Threat waiting for Charlotte Flair at Summerslam 2023

Absent from WWE Smackdown since Wrestlemania 39 Night Two, Charlotte Flair returned a few weeks ago and WWE Official Adam Pearce was quick to hand her over a title match against Asuka just because the opportunity begins with her. That title match went down on the June 30 episode from the O2 Arena in London, England, just a night before the Money in the Bank premium live event.

In that match, Bianca Belair’s involvement cost Flair the title match opportunity. Now, that favor has been returned during the July 14 episode of Smackdown which perfectly sets up the opportunity for a Triple Threat encounter. Wrestling Observer already confirmed the assumption of the Triple Threat WWE Women’s Championship Match where the champion Asuka will defend against Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair at Summerslam 2023.
