Charlotte Flair is on her way to one of the biggest matches of her legendary professional wrestling career. At Wrestlemania 38, she will put her Smackdown Women’s Title on the line against the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble Winner and a combat sports icon in Ronda Rousey. The unfinished story between these two top superstars is likely to produce the ‘Mania Night One main event match.
En route to that historic bout, Charlotte Flair is going through training sessions with her boyfriend Andrade. She previously posted a video on social media to reveal how hard she’s working out, these days. Then she recently spoke with Hot 97 about her fiancée, Andrade El Idolo. She noted how fans like to make a big deal out of the fact that they work in different places. But both of them want each company to be successful.

Charlotte Flair then proceeded to discuss her WrestleMania 38 opponent. She reflected on her bygone singles contest with Rousey at Survivor Series in 2018. On that night, she got herself disqualified from the match by hammering away at Ronda with kendo stick shots. But The Queen believes that she earned Rousey’s respect that night.
“I think Survivor Series, I earned her respect. We had no build, we had no story, it was a last-minute thing, and I think we went out there and killed it, and just gave a taste of what she and I are capable of. So I am looking forward to WrestleMania,” Charlotte Flair said. “I don’t expect anything less than what we already have delivered.”

Charlotte Flair had a ton of praise about Ronda Rousey
Charlotte Flair also showered praises on her ‘Mania opponent as the respect goes both ways. Rousey’s work that she produced during her first run was something tremendous that the champion had to applaud. Also, Flair compared the UFC Hall of Famer to another legend in Kurt Angle in terms of how Rousey had a meteoric rise in the business.
“Absolutely,” Charlotte Flair said on if Ronda earned her respect. “What she did that entire year, she faced The Bellas, Nia Jax, myself, Alexa Bliss. She performed with many different opponents at a high level. That doesn’t mean you necessarily have the best chemistry with everyone, but I think she went out there and she reminded me of Kurt Angle.
“She picked it up so quickly. It’s all about instinct and she has the instinct, and that’s half the battle. You can be in this business for a long time and never figure out instinct, in my opinion.” (quotes courtesy Wrestling INC)
Rousey does have a history with Kurt Angle after joining WWE as the two trained together to feature in a match at Wrestlemania 34. In that match which also marked Rousey’s in-ring debut, she teamed up with Angle to pick up a win over Triple H and Stephanie McMahon in a mixed tag team outing.
