Charlotte Flair is expected to feature in one of the main events of WrestleMania 39 while defending her SmackDown Women’s Championship. There have been chatters over how WWE snubbed that spot with the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship Match. However, she did deliver a highly anticipated match against Rhea Ripley, living up to the expectations.

During the match, there was one brutal spot where Charlotte Flair fell straight on her face out of an inverted suplex by her opponent off the top ropes. This did cause some concern among fans and fellow wrestlers, especially given the fact that she went on a hiatus right after that match. However, The Queen is doing okay and that spot didn’t damage her body, as per her father’s comments.

Recently, on his Be The Man podcast, Charlotte Flair’s father, Ric Flair addressed his daughter’s condition after a thunderous move from Rhea Ripley. According to Ric, she didn’t pick up any injury due to that one particular spot, but she is sporting a bruise on her nose including a black eye, coming out of the match which was slightly shown on TV.

“She’s fine. She’s got a bruise on her nose and a black eye, but between that and that slugfest they had in the middle towards the end, it was great. My hat’s off to Rhea Ripley. She let Ashley hit her as hard as I used to hit Steamboat,” Ric Flair noted on Charlotte Flair’s current injury status.

“That’s what makes it real as opposed to Seth Rollins and Logan Paul laying on their back side by side and slapping each other in the chest. Come on. They’re both better than that. That looked bad compared to Ashley chopping Rhea. Come on. Let’s get serious.”

Ric also had high praise for the match delivered by Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley which stole the show at WrestleMania 39 despite the fact that it was removed from the Night One main event spot. He claimed that the two bitter rivals delivered the best match at the Show or Shows. He also received texts from people from the industry praising the duo’s performance.

“They had the best match at WrestleMania. Let’s get serious. If I showed you the people that text me, and I’ll never violate their privacy, that they sent about Charlotte and Rhea, you’d be amazed, and these are people that know, not people that speculate.”

On WrestleMania 39 Night One, the 2023 Women’s Royal Rumble match winner Rhea Ripley defeated Charlotte Flair in that brutal encounter to become the new SmackDown Women’s Champion, her first blue brand title that helped her to become a true Grand Slam Champion. That title seemed evident as the former champion was reportedly set for a hiatus due to her bodybuilding aspirations.
