On WrestleMania 39 Night One, Rhea Ripley defeated Charlotte Flair in a brutal encounter to become the new SmackDown Women’s Champion. That title change seemed evident as she was reportedly set to go into a hiatus. Now, it’s been confirmed that SmackDown Women’s Title match is supposed to be her last in the company for a while.
Charlotte Flair is indeed taking a break and rumors have been circulating around the same ever since WrestleMania has passed by. Previous reports claimed that this time off will be needed to make her ready for a bodybuilding competition, this coming summer. The Queen herself was seen talking about the upcoming competition in the lead-up to WrestleMania in an interview with ESPN.

Below is what the 14-time Women’s World Champion had said during that interview with ESPN,
“I would love, love, love to do a [bodybuilding] competition. I’m thinking about doing it this summer.
I know what goes into it from a diet standpoint and how lean you get. How do I make that work on the road?”

Charlotte Flair’s bodybuilding aspirations will be affecting her WWE career
In that conversation, Charlotte Flair had expressed her concern about her training sessions not fitting in with her busy schedule while being on the road with the WWE. In a follow-up, PWInsider Elite noted that the former champion informed WWE about her upcoming break during WrestleMania weekend after which the hiatus was planned. Thus, she is scheduled to be away from the ring for an unknown period of time.
Despite her absence, we can be assured of her top status in the WWE. While no report is available regarding Charlotte Flair, it’s certain that she will continue to be a dominant force in the world of professional wrestling upon her return. Hopefully, this sudden break will help her to come back with full energy and a ripped physique after she’s done with the bodybuilding competition.
With this hiatus, Charlotte Flair’s current run only lasted for 3 months, as she returned from the previous hiatus on December 30th. She took a break in May 2022 after losing the SmackDown Women’s Title to Ronda Rousey. However, the day she came back, WWE made creative plans to crown her with the title so that she can enter WrestleMania as champion.
