Charlotte Flair returned to action at this week’s WWE TLC 2020 pay-per-view, proving all the spoilers true about her comeback. With this, she also made her ThunderDome debut as the mystery partner for RAW Women’s Champion Asuka, replacing Lana. The duo would eventually go on to defeat Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler to become the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.

The finish saw Charlotte Flair locking in the Figure Eight on Baszler when Jax tried to interfere. Asuka made the save by taking Jax out. Baszler tried to counter with the Kirifuda Clutch but Flair reversed the hold and executed the Natural Selection on Baszler to get the pinfall win and secure the tag titles.

Charlotte Flair made history with the win at TLC as she is now a Grand Slam Champion and the first Superstar to hold all the women’s titles in WWE – the WWE NXT Women’s Title, the RAW Women’s Title, the SmackDown Women’s Title, and now the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles. Plus, she has also been the last WWE Divas Title before the belt was retired at Wrestlemania 32 in 2016.

Even Asuka made history with the win at WWE TLC as she is the first female Superstar to hold tag team championships with two different partners in WWE, since Velvet McIntyre in 1984. She now holds the record of capturing the titles with Charlotte Flair and Kairi Sane. Asuka is also the first Superstar to hold tag team gold with two different partners in this modern version of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles.

Following the monumental win, Sarah Schreiber interviewed Charlotte Flair and Asuka after the big title win. Flair was asked how she was feeling when she had the following to offer,

“Honestly I’m honored to be the tag team champion with Asuka, but it’s just being back in front of the fans and being beside someone I respect the most in this business,” Flair said. “We have a lot of history and the fact that she could’ve had anyone as her partner and she wanted me, it means a lot. So, not only was I nervous for the fans, I was nervous for Asuka. But man, it feels good to be back. I never thought I’d be the tag team champion with her, but man, let’s see how far we can go.”

The Queen was out of action since losing a title shot to Asuka on the June 17 episode of RAW show. She took some time off to undergo a minor cosmetic procedure while in the kayfabe storyline, Nia Jax injured her with a backstage attack.
