At WrestleMania Backlash 2022 premium live event, Ronda Rousey forced Charlotte Flair to say “I Quit” to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship. The finish of this Wrestlemania rematch came after Charlotte gave her opponent one last warning and wished her Happy Mother’s Day before advising her to say “I Quit”.
As Charlotte Flair denied, Ronda pulled her arm through a Steel Chair and locked in the Armbar to force her to scream “I Quit.” This earned the Baddest Woman on the Planet her maiden win for the blue brand women’s title while Flair’s record seventh title run came to an end. This also is leading her to a speculated hiatus.

After the match, Kayla Braxton announced that Charlotte Flair suffered a “fracture of the radius” which is basically a forearm injury. Following the announcement, Fightful Select reported that the injury is “very much a storyline angle” to write the top superstar away from WWE TV. The source also noted that she was taking time away from the company.
Charlotte Flair getting married to Andrade, this summer
In an update to the situation, Bryan Alvarez of The Wrestling Observer reports that Charlotte Flair is getting married soon, and hence, she requested the time off from WWE. It came on short notice as the pledge was just filed prior to Sunday’s event. She was originally booked for a feud against the returning Lacey Evans following Wrestlemania Backlash but that feud would not be taking place, now.
Charlotte Flair recently revealed that her marriage to AEW star Andrade El Idolo will take place this summer during an interview with BT Sports’s Ariel Helwani,
“We have a [wedding] date. It’s this summer in Mexico, I have my dress. I think Manny (Andrade) would be a little angry if I walked down the aisle with my title. He was like, ‘Mami, for the wedding, I do not want your hair to look like Charlotte.’ I was like, ‘what does that mean?’ Just less makeup, he likes the fresh face.”
After announcing Charlotte Flair’s injury Sunday, Kayla Braxton urged fans to check WWE’s website for regular updates regarding the former champion’s status. But it appears that she’s not coming back until and unless the wedding with Andrade gets over. That being said, the hiatus could continue for quite a few weeks.
