The Women’s Tag Team Championships could be cursed indeed but Chelsea Green has taken the responsibility to remove the tag from it. Over the past few days, she went viral on social media over finding a new tag team partner and even hosting an audition for it which appears to be a positive attempt on a WWE Superstar’s part to promote the company’s content.

Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall that WWE was very happy about Chelsea Green announcing “Chelsea’s Got Talent” via After the Bell podcast which was later spread via Twitter and Instagram. Sadly, no one got selected from the process since Piper Niven jumped in and took the other available strap from her. But the whole thing impressed the WWE officials,

“WWE officials we spoke to seemed happy about the buzz about Chelsea’s Got Talent over the weekend.”

A week ago it was announced that the original one-half of the Women’s Tag Team Champions, Sonya Deville was dealing with an ACL tear which brought up the possibility of vacating the belts, once more. However, the other half of the champions, Chelsea Green was confident about having the title on her side and she eventually got a new tag partner to defend those belts.

Chelsea Green found a new tag team partner on Raw

Over on this week’s WWE Raw, in a backstage segment, it looked like WWE Official Adam Pearce was going to strip Chelsea Green of the championships due to Deville’s inability to compete. The only champion disagreed and also talked about holding auditions to find a new tag team partner in this situation.

Eventually, Piper Niven appeared at the backstage scene and declared herself to be Chelsea Green’s new partner. Green wanted Niven to submit her name, number, and Instagram handle to be considered for an audition but Niven simply snatched the title belt from her and declared herself to be the champion alongside her.

Many consider this segment as a letdown in the history of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. On the flip side, Niven ended up making history with her bold move. The former NXT UK star has now become the first woman to win the tag title without competing for the title. Only time will tell who she can co-exist with Chelsea Green.
