Former WWE star and a former six times WWE World Champion Chris Jericho who is currently working as an Elite in the All Elite Wrestling recently talked about the time of his match against Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 33. He said Vince McMahon was hard on Owens at the time and the match turned out to be really good.
Chris Jericho previously talked about his match against Kevin Owens that took place at WrestleMania 33 and he also talked about the whole process behind the match. Jericho was very unhappy with the whole process and the way it ended. It was supposed to be booked in a completely different way than it was booked. And Jericho did not hesitate to take out his frustration on this incident after he left WWE.

Chris Jericho Thinks Vince McMahon Was Hard On Kevin Owens In 2017
It was originally scheduled to be booked for the WWE Universal Championship. Both Jericho and Owens worked really hard to build up the whole feud. But just before WrestleMania 33, WWE decided to take the Universal Championship away from this match and to give it to Goldberg.
A part timer got all the footage before Wrestlemania was something Jericho could not accept. When the Universal title was taken off from their match, Jericho wanted the opening match of the night, and that was not given to them either. They got the second match of the night.
Quite obviously it angered Jericho and it was one of the biggest reasons why he decided to leave the WWE. After working so hard to build up their feud so that they could get to fight for the world championship at Wrestlemania, the title was taken away from them for a part timer and they were not granted any wish. After this incident, Jericho decided to join AEW, even though stayed with WWE.

Chris Jericho who is currently working as an Elite in the All Elite Wrestling recently spoke with TalkSport where he talked about the time of his match against Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 33. He said Vince McMahon was hard on Owens at the time and the match turned out to be really good. He said;
“He told Kevin it was the ‘worst match in WrestleMania history’ [laughs]. I never heard anything about that. When I came through, Vince went [thumbs up], so I think he was on Kevin’s case at the time. I think he was going through a phase where he thought maybe Kevin had some extra weight that he wanted him to lose or wasn’t happy with his work as a heel.
“Kevin is a very unique performer in that he’s amazing and he’s a bigger guy. Who cares? Mick Foley was a bigger guy, Vader was a bigger guy, Bam Bam Bigelow was a bigger guy. Didn’t affect their work, they were still great performers and Kevin is one of those guys.

“For whatever reason, Vince goes through phases where you just get stuck in his craw and he gets pissed off at anything you do and maybe that was one of his reasons. But yeah… the worst match in WrestleMania history?! I was like ‘have you not seen Giant Gonzalez vs The Undertaker!
“It was great. And then the next match we had at the following pay-per-view was amazing as well. I wasn’t happy with that match because they had us on second at that WrestleMania which was the writing on the wall that they didn’t care about the feud. That was one of the best feuds that was originally meant to lead to the main event of WrestleMania and then it ends up on second. I just knew it was time for me to go. Little did I know I’d be gone forever, seemingly, but that’s how it goes.”
