WWE Clash at the Castle 2022 PLE main event not changing

Moving forward, PWInsider reported that Drew McIntyre has been pulled from this past weekend’s two WWE Live Events (in Salisbury, Maryland, and in Atlantic City, New Jersey) due to lower back issues. It added to the speculations that the Reigns vs. McIntyre matchup is bound to get changed.

However, speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer clarified that WWE will not change its plans for Clash At The Castle 2022. It stated that the company is still going forward with the planned Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre matchup for the Premium Live Event.

“For Cardiff, it is still Roman and Drew and I was told that it’s really not gonna change. They feel that it really has to be the match.”

It was noted by Jason Powell that WWE is giving Drew some rest which is very important, in order to protect his huge upcoming title match against Reigns at Clash at the Castle 2022. Many believe he will dethrone The Tribal Chief from his ongoing reign to finally have his big championship moment in front of live fans. Hence, the one-on-one capacity is needed and Kross may have to wait for Extreme Rules to get his title match opportunity.
