WWE has been facing some difficulties from the very beginning of setting things up for the Women’s Tag Team Championship Tournament. They have already made changes last week due to injury and then again another injury occurred prior to this week’s Raw to cause more alteration to the ongoing tourney.

It was last week before SmackDown that WWE announced that Nikkita Lyons and Zoey Stark were pulled from the Women’s Tag Team Championship Tournament. The latter one is suffering from a legit injury following this past week’s Heatwave while her partner was reportedly not allowed to enter Canada for not taking the COVID-19 vaccine. WWE noted in their announcement how both the women not being medically able to compete but that might not be the real story.

After this was pulled, another team from the NXT roster was called upon to make their main roster debut. It was Toxic Attraction’s Gigi Dolin and Jacey Jayne who arrived on SmackDown and got the win over Sonya Deville and Natalya in the first-round match on this past Friday’s SmackDown. Thereby, the winners were booked in the semifinal match of the Women’s Tag Team Championship Tournament set for this Friday night.

However, WWE had then offered an update saying that Dolin and Jayne have now been pulled from the Women’s Tag Team Championship Tournament since Dolin has suffered injuries and isn’t medically cleared to compete. The extent, as well as the details of her injuries, were not revealed. Dolin also reacted to her injury by posting a cartoon gif of a figure sitting and crying on her Twitter account.
