CM Punk had a solid WWE run which included several world title reigns. He had a 434-day reign as the WWE Champion that stands as the sixth-longest in title history and at one point, he also became the longest-reigning WWE Champion of the modern era until AJ Styles broke that record. After the departure from WWE in 2014, the animosity between both parties kept on growing.

WWE still holds some grudges towards CM Punk despite the fact that it’s been seven years since CM Punk’s release. WWE recently wrote the likelihood of released WWE stars who will be appearing in the upcoming WWE 2K22 video game. On that same page, it was mentioned how the former Straight Edge Leader will never be featured in a WWE video game again.

The feelings are said to be mutual as CM Punk doesn’t want to be connected with the WWE in any way. He’s currently with the AEW brand who also picked debuting as the best moment of his career.

CM Punk is having a great time in AEW

During an appearance with ESPN’s SportsNation, AEW star CM Punk talked about his debut this past August at AEW Rampage: The First Dance in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois. The WWE Superstar now firmly believes that it is the best moment of his illustrious career.

“I definitely think it’s the number one moment of my career,” CM Punk said. “I’ve been fortunate, I‘ve done a lot of cool things, won titles, sold out buildings, wrestled a lot of big names. But to come back after seven years and have that be the response? It shows you that I think that I left my fingerprints all over the industry.

CM Punk Discusses Possibility On Reuniting With Ex WWE Diva AJ Lee 2

Recently fellow AEW superstars and real-life couple, Adam Cole and Britt Baker revealed that their dream tag team match would be taking on CM Punk and his wife, former wrestler AJ Lee. Speaking in the ESPN conversation, Punk didn’t dismiss the possibility of seeing that match. But AJ isn’t returning, anytime, soon since there are projects she is currently working on.

“That one I can’t promise you,” CM Punk said. “She’s doing her own thing. To be completely honest, I know her. And if I said ‘hey, do you want to do this wrestling match?’ and she was all gung ho to do it, I know she would want to get into stupid shape to do it. And I like her fit. I don’t want to take that away from myself.”
