Cody Rhodes returned to WWE after almost six years at Wrestlemania 38 by taking on Seth “Freakin’” Rollins in a singles contest. He picked up a big win over Rollins at the Grandest Stage of Them All in a match that was highly praised. The fact that WWE presented the winner as a top superstar was also praised by the wrestling pundits.
WWE then brought Cody Rhodes on the Raw brand, last week on the post-Wrestlemania 38 edition as he proceeded to cut a very emotional promo. Now, it’s been announced that he will be wrestling his first match on RAW since his return to the WWE, next week. The American Nightmare will take on The Miz this coming edition on Monday.
Roman Reigns To Appear On Both WWE Raw And Smackdown Shows
The upcoming episode of Monday Night RAW will also feature the in-ring debut of Veer Mahaan on the red brand as he will square off against Rey Mysterio in singles action. Plus, AJ Styles will be in action against Damian Priest while WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships will be on the line as Sasha Banks and Naomi will defend the titles against Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan.

Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins rematch is coming up
Cody Rhodes was also initially set to appear on this week’s episode of SmackDown on FOX from Milwaukee, Wisconsin but he was there on the show. Reports also claimed that plans changed around the superstar ahead of the show but WWE changed the plans. But the former WWE Intercontinental Champion will be on RAW, this coming week in a headliner match.
As noted, Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins squared off in a great match that took place on the first night of WrestleMania 38. Now, these two will feature in a rematch within a few weeks. During SmackDown this week, they aired a commercial as WWE announced that the rematch between the two superstars will take place on the May 6th episode of Friday Night SmackDown from Uniondale, New York.
There’s no update on how the two Raw Superstars will compete in a big match on Smackdown but the speculation is that this lineup will end up being a dark match for the evening if not WWE bills this match as their quarterly crossovers between the two brands.
