WWE Crown Jewel 2021: Brock Lesnar Vs. Roman Reigns Officially Announced

For a number of weeks, the next bout between The Beast Incarnate and The Tribal Chief has been rumored to happen at WWE Crown Jewel 2021. Now, it’s been made, official after WWE offered an official statement regarding the matchup. Brock Lesnar will challenge WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns for the title in the next PPV event to take place in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, next month.

Crown Jewel 2021 marks the first time that WWE will be visiting the middle-east country in a year and a half. The last Saudi Arabia PPV took place in February of 2020 under the name of Super Showdown. In the main event of that show, Goldberg defeated The Fiend Bray Wyatt to win the Universal Championship for the second time in his career.

Brock Lesnar Returns On WWE Smackdown; Goes Physical With Roman Reigns

Brock Lesnar was also in action on that night where he squashed Ricochet to retain his WWE Championship while Roman Reigns led Team Hulk Hogan to a victory against Team Ric Flair in a huge tag team matchup. Now, these two titans will collide against each other in a multi-time Wrestlemania rematch after what went down on this past episode of Smackdown.

Crown Jewel 2021 marks Lesnar vs. Reigns number V

As Lesnar vs. Reigns has been announced by the WWE for their return to Crown Jewel 2021 on Thursday, October 21, Paul Heyman is being advertised to be in Reigns’ corner. There’s no doubt that Heyman will be playing a big role in this matchup considering that he used to be Lesnar’s advocate for a long time.

It should also be noted that The WWE Universal Title will be on the line for Lesnar vs. Reigns only if Reigns can retain at Extreme Rules. In that upcoming PPV event, Reigns is set to defend against “The Demon” Finn Balor on September 26. Regardless of what happens at Extreme Rules, Lesnar vs. Reigns will still happen in Saudi Arabia. In case of a title change at Extreme Rules, this match is likely to be a non-title matchup at Crown Jewel 2021.

WWE Crown Jewel 2021 will air at 1 pm ET on October 21, live via Peacock and the WWE Network. The event will reportedly also feature the finals of the 2021 King of the Ring tournament and the finals of the first-ever Queen of the Ring tournament, although WWE hasn’t confirmed the same. Lesnar vs. Reigns is the only matchup on the card, as of now.
