This week’s WWE Super SmackDown on FOX aired from the Madison Square Garden we witnessed the return of Brock Lesnar. This marked his first blue brand appearance since October 2019 as he was seemingly ready to get back the Universal Title from Roman Reigns. In the process, he has to go physical with the Tribal Chief but The Usos saved the day for the champion.

SmackDown opened with The bloodline – WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, Paul Heyman, and SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos coming to the ring for a promo segment. Reigns talked about owning WWE, NYC, and MSG, who also wanted the crowd to acknowledge him.

The Bloodline was then interrupted by Brock Lesnar, who came to the ring to a massive pop from the audience. He marched right into the ring to get into Reigns’ face. This caused The Usos to step in front of Reigns and get in Lesnar’s face for protection.

Paul Heyman took the mic and asked why Brock Lesnar is coming after the Universal Title when he could successfully go after any other title in WWE. Lesnar interrupted and asked Heyman why he did not tell Reigns that he was going to be present at SummerSlam. Reigns was upset with this news as he made his exit from the ring with the Universal title.

The Beast fought Reigns off and went to hit the F5 on him, but The Usos rushed back to the ring and unloaded on him with some superkicks. Brock Lesnar came right back and planted The Usos with a double clothesline. He then hit a couple of German suplexes on Jimmy and Jey Jey Usos to stand tall as The Bloodline retreated to the stage.

That was the end of the segment and Brock Lesnar never appeared by the end of the show answering the call from Roman Reigns. At present, Lesnar vs. Reigns is not confirmed, but it looks like that match could happen at WWE Crown Jewel on Thursday, October 21 in Saudi Arabia.
