Professional wrestling was elated to have Daniel Bryan onboard for All Elite Wrestling as they could be seeing some dream matches. One of those matches has already taken place against Kenny Omega. Definitely, there’s more to follow given the circumstances. Also, the reason that Bryan wanted to leave WWE was to have some fun with wrestling while being with the AEW.
Staying in WWE will obviously produce some good matches, as well but Daniel Bryan wanted to be part of fresh bookings instead of repetitive bookings. While his move to AEW was welcomed by the majority of his fanbase, there’s a small portion who wasn’t happy with his decision. Perhaps, they consider him to be a WWE lifer which wasn’t the case.

During an interview with ABC 6 Action News, the former WWE Champion Daniel Bryan (now known as Bryan Danielson in AEW) revealed some of the negative fan reactions, he’s experienced since after leaving for the AEW from WWE. Apparently, those were death threats which not only was directed to him but also to his baby boy.

“So, it just felt, it’s weird. You know, there’s a decent amount of tribalism in our culture today where it’s like people are, you know, say politically. If you’re right, everything on the left is bad. If you’re left, everything on the right is bad and same thing with wrestling.
There’s WWE fans, and they would — the worst ones would be like sending death threats to me on Instagram and like, ‘I hope you die’ or, ‘I hope your son dies’ or something like that. But, that’s a small minority.”

Daniel Bryan made his shocking debut at AEW All Out 2021 PPV event to send the wrestling world to a frenzy. He wrestled his first match for the company against Kenny Omega at AEW Dynamite Grand Slam which resulted in a 30-minute time limit draw that literally set the wrestling world on fire. This was the main reason behind jumping ship to AEW as he could wrestle talents in AEW.
While Daniel Bryan has opted to choose AEW over WWE, his wife Brie Bella is a WWE-lifer. Joining the Sippin’ the Tea TV Show, The Total Divas star spoke about her husband’s debut in AEW and clarified that she never forced him to stay with the WWE. It was an exciting summertime in the Danielson family as they also have two babies to take care of.
