A lot of speculations can be heard regarding Daniel Bryan since he is absent from SmackDown for the past couple of months. As of late, WWE has name-dropped him on SmackDown due to the ongoing storyline of Edge and Roman Reigns starting some kind of rumors of a return. But word now is that those mentions have nothing to do with any upcoming return.
Daniel Bryan’s WWE career has reportedly come to an end after losing the Career vs. Title match to WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns on the April 30 episode of SmackDown. His contract expired at that time, leading to the departure. He was expected to remain with WWE in some capacity, afterward. But no confirmed update is there regarding his status.
Updates On WWE-NJPW Collaboration And Daniel Bryan’s Involvement
Fans recently started to think that he could be back on TV after WWE started making mentions of him on TV as of late. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that those recent Daniel Bryan mentions are not an indication that he’s coming back. WWE keeps him mentioning it just because he is a part of the storyline build to the Money in the Bank match between Reigns and WWE Hall of Famer Edge.

Nothing is confirmed regarding Daniel Bryan
Daniel Bryan was involved in the Triple Threat Universal Title match at WrestleMania 37 Night Two main event slot. The angle WWE is playing that Bryan is the reason that Edge was unable to win the title in that Triple Threat. Originally, Edge was supposed to get a one-on-one matchup against Reigns via his Royal Rumble win.
“Regarding all the mentions of Daniel Bryan on television of late, we’re told this isn’t an indication he’s coming back. They keep mentioning his name because he is part of the story of building Reigns vs. Edge, since they are using him as the reason Edge didn’t already win the Title [at WrestleMania 37].
Nobody really knows what he’s doing past if he’s made a secret deal with any company,” mentioned the source.
It was noted in the report that no one really knows what Daniel Bryan is doing, as of late. It’s not clear, either whether he made a secret deal with any promotion including the WWE. Perhaps, that particular promotion is keeping it a secret until they’re ready for the big reveal. The leader of the Yes Nation has not been active on social media with his last tweet coming on February 10, and his last Instagram post on April 22.
