Deonna Purrazzo established herself as one of the strongest female characters in the current landscape of professional wrestling. After the utter failure in her career during her NXT stint, it was time for her to seek redemption by joining the Impact Wrestling promotion. She utilize the opportunities perfectly to become one of the all-time greats on that roster, eventually.

While The Virtuosa stayed on top at Impact Wrestling, her two besties, Dr. Britt Baker cemented her legacy in AEW while the other Chelsea Green found her way back to the WWE. Returning to the WWE in early 2023 through the Royal Rumble match, the latter is now gunning for the Women’s Tag Team Titles and Deonna Purrazzo couldn’t be more proud of her.

During a recent appearance on Busted Open Radio, Deonna Purrazzo shared her thoughts on Chelsea Green’s current successful WWE run. Green always dreamt of staying under the banner of WWE and hence, her first release from the company was tough to deal with. But eventually, WWE called her back and gave her a character that she could enjoy on TV which is a piece of good news.

“WWE was the job she wanted from the day she got into wrestling and she kind of did what she had to do to work her way back and look at her now. I’ve said it time and time again, there’s no one I want more success for than Chelsea Green. If it can’t be me, I want it to be her,” Deonna Purrazzo said about Chelsea Green.

“To see her week after week be her real self — the theatrics on her face and the silly comments she makes about the ‘three strikes, you’re out, basketball,’ that’s Chelsea. That’s exactly who she wanted to be, and I’m so glad that her path took her back to WWE and gave her that character.” (quotes courtesy Wrestling INC)

Before returning to the WWE, Deonna Purrazzo and Chelsea Green worked together in the Impact Wrestling Knockouts division as a tag team. Last year, collectively known as VXT, they reached the top of Impact Wrestling’s Knockouts tag team division by winning the tag team titles. It was Green’s departure from Impact that the two had to drop those belts.

Moving forward, Deonna Purrazzo became a three-time Knockouts World Champion back in April of this year with a victory over Jordynne Grace at the Rebellion pay-per-view in April. Last night at Slammiversary, she lost the belt to another former WWE Superstar Trinity.
