Since the beginning of this year, Impact Wrestling is trying hard to pull up viewership, and as an effort, they brought back Deonna Purrazzo to their TV screen. The former 2020 star of the year and the multi-time champion in the company was put back in the champion’s position with the hope that she will garner more numbers for Impact’s Thursday night wrestling shows.
After entering Impact Wrestling, three years ago, Deonna Purrazzo has already experienced so much success to re-establish her legacy in the professional wrestling scene after going through a disastrous time in the WWE. After re-signing the contract with Impact, she will stick around the company for the remainder of 2023 which might allow her to break a record in the future.

Last month, Deonna Purrazzo started her third reign as the Impact Knockouts World Champion with a victory over Jordynne Grace at the Rebellion pay-per-view. With this win, The Virtuosa has now moved on and climbed to the second spot in the list of combined reigns for Knockouts World Champions, surpassing Mickie James who was the champion with the same belt for 445 days across five reigns.

Deonna Purrazzo wants to surpass legendary Gail Kim
To reach the top position, Deonna Purrazzo needs to be champion for more than 250 days from now but that spot still remains her goal. Admittedly, the former WWE Superstar wants to surpass Impact Hall of Famer Gail Kim, who held the promotion’s women’s championship for 711 days across seven reigns.
In a recent interview with WrestleZone, Deonna Purrazzo expressed her will to go after Kim’s record which might put her in an all-time great spot. Apparently, she won’t stop until she reaches the milestone,
“The number that sticks in my mind is 711. That is the number of days combined that Gail Kim held the Knockouts World Championship. She did that over seven reigns and is No. 1 in combined days as champion. So, that is the next number for me where it’s like, ‘If I’m at 400 plus days now, can I beat 711?'”
Deonna Purrazzo’s second title reign of 343 days was ended by Mickie James at the Bound for Glory pay-per-view in October 2021. Prior to that, she enjoyed a 98-day reign during the COVID-19 pandemic soon after joining the promotion after jumping ship from WWE until she lost the title to Su Yung.
