Deonna Purrazzo has seen a lot of success since re-joining Impact Wrestling promotion following her run in WWE NXT. Back then, she was in a traumatized state after a terrible WWE run and even thought of quitting the business. However, she soon found a foothold on Impact and eventually went on to become the star of the year when the COVID-19 pandemic was in full force.
For those who don’t know, Deonna Purrazzo will continue to stick around Impact for the remainder of 2023 via a new deal and it makes sense why the company crowned her with the championship for the third time. In addition, her husband has also become the reigning world champion in the promotion. Unfortunately, they just can’t appear as a power couple on TV.

Impact Wrestling does not have a problem with real-life couples, but for some reason, the company’s creative team has decided that Deonna Purrazzo’s marriage with the current world champion Steve Maclin will not be acknowledged on screen. Speaking on In The Weeds, The Virtuosa said that until something changes, don’t expect her and Maclin to get lovey-dovey on Impact programming,
“Right now, IMPACT does not allow us on screen together. We’re not allowed to talk about each other. We do not exist in each other’s world yet in IMPACT Wrestling.”

Deonna Purrazzo open to featuring in a storyline with her husband
However, this doesn’t mean that Deonna Purrazzo herself is opposing the idea of featuring in an angle with Maclin. Proceeding in the conversation, the former WWE Superstar added that if the opportunity is to be given then she would love to work together on Impact TV,
“If it was something that was brought to the table, I think Steve and I would absolutely be open to it. Steve and I have always talked about, we’re not huge intergender wrestlers, but if there’s a story and it made sense, it’d be something we’d be open to.” (quotes courtesy Fightful)
Deonna Purrazzo and Steve Maclin (ex-WWE Superstar Steve Cutler of SAnitY) started dating in 2020 soon after the duo got released from the WWE. Maclin would eventually join her in IMPACT Wrestling in 2021. The lovely couple announced their engagement in February of last year and they eventually tied the knot in November in the presence of their close buddies in the circuit.
During the IMPACT Rebellion event in Toronto, Deonna Purrazzo captured her third Knockouts World Championship, defeating Jordynne Grace exactly three years and one day after her WWE release. On that same PPV night, Steve Maclin became the IMPACT World Champion by defeating KUSHIDA after the title was vacated by Josh Alexander due to injury.
