Drew McIntyre is no more the WWE champion but that doesn’t keep him away from the top babyface spot over on Monday Night RAW. He was chosen as the Number-one Draft pick during the 2020 edition for a reason and it’s certain that he’s determined to take back the top-most title present in sports entertainment.
The King of Claymore Country wreaks havoc after entering the WWE ring but he does have a funny side that we barely know. In fact, he does have a connection with Indians that very few would know. Drew McIntyre recently spoke to VJ and host of WWE NOW India – Gaelyn Mendonca where the viewers of the show were excited to learn about one of the reasons behind his beard look.
WWE Returning To India In 2021 To Find Young Talents
The former WWE Champion is no different than his predecessors – John Cena or Kofi Kingston or even Stephanie McMahon who just ‘love to love’ Bollywood. In the case of the Scottish Psychopath, he does have a personal favorite in our own Desi Boy, John Abraham. He does love the muscular look of our hero who also expects to have him as a tag team partner.
“Jinder has spoken to me about different Bollywood actors and heroes from the country, but I absolutely love John Abraham, love his look as well. I hope when I visit India, I could have him join me in a Tag Team Match.”

Former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre Reveals Favorite Indian Food
Drew McIntyre also shared his experiences with Indian Food. He revealed that popular Chicken Tikka Masala and Pakodas are his favorites while a good Korma isn’t a bad choice, either. He also joked during this segment, discussing how the popular Goan dish ‘Vindaloo’ was too hot to handle for him. He wasn’t habituated with such spicy food.
Later, he revealed that his all-time favorite Indian food is the bread of our country,
“My favourite is actually Naan bread. I love sweet Naan. I wish it were more accessible in Florida, where I’m currently staying. I do not believe they have very good Indian food out there. So, fans if you know any good Indian food in Florida please tell me!”
While challenged by the host to try some Hindi dialogues, Drew McIntyre had some problems with the R pronunciations but he managed to throw Jinder Mahal’s ‘Raj karunga raj’ punchline, ‘Aa dekhe zara, kisme kitna hai dum’ while addressing rival Randy Orton, and finally addressing his fans in India ‘Main hoon na!’.
Speaking of Jinder Mahal, Drew McIntyre does share a bond with the Modern Day Maharaja. Even before their 3MB days, the two got to know each other while training for professional wrestling and thus became very good friends. Here’s what he had to offer on the former WWE Champion,
“We are so similar, close in age, and when we met, we instantly became friends. From Jinder I learnt about just how nice the people of India are and well aggressively nice, because they will not take no for an answer.
I remember once being on the road with him, we went out one evening with his cousin and returned to Jinder’ s apartment where he had just one bedroom and one bed. I told him I would sleep on the couch, but Jinder and his cousin insisted that I take the bedroom and be comfortable. It reached a point where I think they would have beaten me up if I didn’t take the bedroom,” stated Drew McIntyre.
