Drew McIntyre will be defending his WWE Championship against Randy Orton at SummerSlam 2020 that is going to be the toughest defense of his title reign.
But he’s not someone who’d back down from a fight, especially at this point when he’s the reigning WWE Champion who showed dominance more than anybody in the locker room. He hasn’t lost even a single pinfall loss, this year.
WWE Smackdown: The Fiend Bray Wyatt Attacks Alexa Bliss
It seems that he won’t be on the losing side either at the biggest party of the summer. The current betting odds as listed by Bet WWE show that Drew McIntyre is the favorite to retain his championship against The Viper. He is likely to win the match against the future Hall of Famer. However, the odds are still very close.
Drew McIntyre is likely to win with -150 odds by his name whereas Randy Orton is standing at +110 odds. Going by the figures, it seems there’s plenty of room for Orton to come up with the win. Overall, this could be a match that could go either way especially considering the fact that Vince McMahon keeps on changing his mind on match outcomes.
Why Kevin Owens Is Absent From WWE Raw Since Extreme Rules
Drew McIntyre has been on the receiving side of a push since the beginning of this year. He is one of those Paul Heyman guys whom the former Executive Director of Raw favored a lot.
Thankfully, the push didn’t come to an end even after Heyman was fired from his position, a few months ago. His entire reign as WWE Champion has been going on in front of a null audience. But he still received strong booking while holding the most prestigious title.
As for Randy Orton, he’s the most successful too as a heel on Raw, and thereby a match was evident to happen at SummerSlam against Drew McIntyre. Statistics also favor him a lot as he has already snatched three World Title wins in this particular event. So the King of Claymore Country should have to be focused.
On this week’s episode of WWE RAW, Drew McIntyre is all set to send a message to his SummerSlam opponent to gain back some momentums,
“Randy Orton made it clear that he’s coming for McIntyre’s WWE Championship last Monday on Raw, and The Viper struck first, dropping the champion with a thunderous RKO after McIntyre’s grueling win over Dolph Ziggler in an Extreme Rules Match. How will the fearless WWE Champion react to Orton’s ruthless attack outta nowhere? Find out on Raw, this Monday at 8/7 C on USA!”
