Brock Lesnar is a one-of-a-kind talent to be possessed by the WWE. His re-insertion to the roster back in 2012 changed the game for the company. It’s safe to say that he had a monopoly over the main event for a long time until Roman Reigns rose to the occasion and replaced him as The Tribal Chief.
Being a special WWE Superstar, Brock Lesnar obviously gets special treatment from the WWE. Rules and accommodations are often twisted for the top talent in many ways, which includes a grant to continue with his stint even after going through failed drug tests.

It should be reminded that even Roman Reigns was suspended in 2016 due to the same reason while his bitter rival could evade the consequences. In another instance, Billy Gunn was fired from WWE in 2015 after testing positive for steroids during a weightlifting competition. Despite not being an active in-ring performer, he was let go from the WWE.

Brock Lesnar experienced failed drug tests in the 2016 summer
Then in 2016, Brock Lesnar suffered a failed drug test after his UFC fight against Mark Hunt in July of that year and that resulted in the bout’s result being declared not in his favor. But he was not fired from WWE after getting tested positive for anti-estrogen drugs clomiphene and hydroxy-clomiphene which is an out-of-competition drug sample.
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer mentioned this situation and revealed an interesting scoop regarding that situation. The veteran wrestling journalist discovered that WWE told him that failed drug tests don’t ever apply to The Beast Incarnate,
“Brock Lesnar did UFC, was an active wrestler — Billy Gunn wasn’t even an active wrestler — and Brock tested positive, it wasn’t for steroids, but he failed a drug test, and the response from WWE is that the drug test doesn’t apply to Brock Lesnar. This amazed me, because I asked, I was like, ‘hey, Brock just failed a test, you know and in commission states, in theory, he should be suspended from commission states that regulate wrestling, because that’s the rules.’”
Following that instance, Brock Lesnar was banned from UFC for a year and he had to pay a $250k fine. However, when it came to Vince McMahon’s company, he received a monstrous booking that summer. A month after that fight against Mark Hunt, the multi-time champion dismantled Randy Orton at Summerslam 2016 main event with a win over the top superstar via TKO.
