Rumors went rampant about a potential return of Trish Stratus to the WWE in-ring competition at Elimination Chamber 2023 since this WWE Network Specials will be emanating from her home country of Canada. However, there’s been no storyline-build for that return but it was instigated, two weeks ago.
After Lita helped Becky Lynch beat Bayley inside a steel cage on the February 6 episode of WWE Raw, many fans believed that WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus would also be returning to even up the numbers game against Damage CTRL members by aligning herself with Becky Lynch and her bestie, Lita.
Elimination Chamber 2023: Top Raw Superstar Confirms Her Status For WWE PLE
Dave Meltzer reported in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Trish Stratus was “at one point scheduled” to appear on the February 13 Raw in Brooklyn, the go-home episode of Elimination Chamber 2023 to confirm her status at the PLE. But that appearance was said to be canceled in wake of Dakota Kai’s legitimate injury.

A tag team match canceled from Elimination Chamber
Thus, a potential six-woman tag team match pitting Lynch, Lita, and Stratus against Damage CTRL members isn’t scheduled for Elimination Chamber 2023 and chances are slim that Trish will be appearing at the PLE. But the angle isn’t “dead” as of this writing as that match could be recreated in the future following Elimination Chamber 2023.
Plans for a Wrestlemania title match
At this point, IYO SKY and Dakota Kai’s plans are for WrestleMania 39 as Meltzer said that they are still slated to defend the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships against Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler. It’s unknown whether the above-mentioned tag team match is also slated to go down on that show, offering Damage CTRL to pull off. The good thing is that storyline around Trish Stratus is “expected to be revisited at some point.”
