Deonna Purrazzo has been a top promising female superstar in the professional wrestling industry who used to work at WWE NXT. As much as she would like to make a name by working hard in WWE, she was underutilized and then got fired from WWE back on April 15th of 2021 due to the COVID-19-related budget cuts. However, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise for her as she jumped ship to a different company and go to the top.

After moving away from the WWE, it didn’t take her long to find her foothold in Impact Wrestling within a month. Deonna Purrazzo worked in NXT since 2018 before her 2020 release and for most of her stint, she was barely used on TV. She never lived up to her full potential in the company but just after living the brand, she won the Impact Knockouts Title on two occasions and eventually the wrestler of the year for 2020.

Apart from Impact, she also won titles in ROH and AAA and thus became a force to be reckoned with. Deonna Purrazzo would eventually lose the title to Mickie James, last year during the fall but she’s still a dual champion who is slated for a Championship Challenge where she will defend the AAA Reina de Reina or ROH Title against a mystery opponent.

Currently, AEW has bought ROH promotion, and the president Tony Khan wasn’t aware of the booking conflict when he bought it. Then Khan opened up about the future of Deonna Purrazzo during an interview with Busted Open Radio and mentioned how he sees big things in her. There could be a time when The Virtuosa could become a permanent AEW roster member,

“When Deonna won the Ring of Honor title, when they booked that match, I did not have an agreement in place to buy Ring of Honor yet and was not booking the matches. With them having a show the night of our pay-per-view, I don’t know how it’s going to work out. Scott [D’Amore] and I are still talking about that because I completely respect their position that they have an event that night too.”

AEW has been teasing bringing in a top female superstar and they have plenty of options in free agents like , Sarah Rowe, Taya Valkyrie, Nixon Newell, Tessa Blanchard, and more. Deonna Purrazzo also remains a valid option for them.
