ToggleDuring the COVID-19 pandemic, WWE NXT’s base, the Performance Center was kept open to continue with the weekly shows of the company. For this, the company officials were extremely thankful to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis who helped go through smoothly in that tough conditions despite the USA government’s strict laws to battle the challenging situation.
Now, it appears that Ron was not only acquainted with the world of professional wrestling but he had a close relationship with the WWE as he enjoyed private shows put up especially for him by the company.

According to the comments from the former WWE NXT Superstar, Steph De Lander, Ron had a special connection with the company. Steph De Lander remembered her days from WWE NXT
While discussing the ongoing issue in Florida, De Lander expressed her disbelief that she lived there, once during her time in WWE NXT. Speaking on the notion, she remembered once getting called to the WWE Performance Center on a Saturday to perform in a private show for DeSantis and his family. Subsequently, the bombshell also got to meet the governor who was in favor of pro wrestling.
It wasn’t revealed when that private show went down at the home of the WWE NXT. But given De Lander’s tenure in the WWE, it should be around the pandemic season in 2020 and beyond as the company had its base in Florida for show tapings for a long time.
Steph De Lander was having a strong romantic storyline with her fellow WWE NXT colleague Duke Hudson that was supposed to push both of those names. However, she was suddenly released due to the COVID-19 pandemic budget cuts in the middle of a storyline. One of the hottest angles from that timespan came to an end and it did disappoint the fans.
Since parting ways with the WWE NXT brand, the Aussie wrestler has found her base on the indie scene. After making her debut in Impact Wrestling, she also started pairing herself up with the self-proclaimed indie God, Matt Cordona fka Zack Ryder in the WWE.
