What To Expect From This Week’s WWE Raw: January 29, 2018 1

The Road to Wrestlemania 34 officially began on last night’s Royal Rumble PPV where we got the main-eventer of this year’s biggest event. Although the men’s division matchup witnessed a winner from the Smackdown brand, Raw did claim the win in the women’s division matchup which was the closure of the incredible night.

With Asuka’s win and Ronda Rousey’s arrival, the scene has been volatile on the women’s championship picture. This indicates something big in-store for the women at Wrestlemania which would be addressed on tonight’s WWE Raw. The night will be hosted from the same venue, Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The women’s Royal Rumble match did close in a huge way possible marking a night that will be remembered forever as the first-ever prestigious battle royal from the female division. Asuka did win the match to emerge as the contender for the title. However, confusions remain as Ronda Rousey was lurking for a spot, as well. Check out the updates from WWE.com regarding this situation,

“Rousey made it clear that she was going to WrestleMania, but her sudden emergence in WWE has clouded the Team Red Women’s division. What did her handshake with Raw Commissioner Stephanie McMahon mean? What exactly is Rousey planning for this year’s Show of Shows? And how will it be addressed tonight on Raw?”

Tonight, we expect to hear an announcement regarding the situation as we approach towards the Elimination Chamber PPV. It is expected that another first-time matchup for the women’s division will be announced, officially inside the ominous steel structure that might decide who will remain the title-holder at Wrestlemania 34.

The same cannot be said for the Universal Championship picture since Brock Lesnar has won the title but is not likely to perform at the upcoming PPV. So, we are likely to have a match that will determine his next opponent inside the steel cage structure known as Elimination Chamber. The six participants of this year’s matchup on February 25 are likely to be announced, on the night.

Sheamus and Cesaro have become the new WWE Raw tag team championships widening the cracks between Rollins and Jordan. The latter one decided to leave his partner, high-and-dry teasing a rivalry in the future. This angle should be continued, tonight as they will be getting the rematch by invoking the clause.

Also, the fate of the Intercontinental Championship is likely to be decided on tonight’s WWE Raw. The Miz has promised to make the title prestigious like never before. But, Roman Reigns is still waiting for his rematch which should be sanctioned, sooner. We would learn when this contest gets sanctioned.
