Bianca Belair vs. SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch has been announced for WWE Extreme Rules 2021 and it’s the first match to be made official for the pay-per-view event. The match was made official during this week’s SmackDown on FOX that took place at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida.

During the episode, Becky Lynch denied a challenge from Belair to defend her title on the show. This would have been Becky’s first title defense after quickly defeating Belair for the title at WWE SummerSlam on August 21 following her surprise return.

As Becky denied the title match, being a heel, it was later announced for Extreme Rules 2021. Eyeing that match, the contract signing for Belair vs. Lynch will be held during next Friday’s Super SmackDown episode from Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Meanwhile, WWE Extreme Rules 2021 will take place on September 26 from the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. At present, Belair vs. Lynch is the only match to be confirmed for the first post-SummerSlam PPV event.

Bianca Belair earned her opportunity at WWE Extreme Rules 2021

Bianca Belair has officially become the new number-one contender at WWE Extreme Rules 2021 for the SmackDown Women’s Championship held by Becky Lynch. Last week, WWE SmackDown on FOX opened with the new champion coming out to the ring to discuss her big SummerSlam return and the quick title win over Belair.

Becky Lynch also addressed the fan backlash over how she took a cheap shot at Belair when she defeated Belair at SummerSlam. She felt sorry for absolutely nothing, cementing her heel turn. Belair then interrupted and said she’s not there to make excuses but then she also demanded a rematch for the title.

Carmella, Zelina Vega, and Liv Morgan interrupted as they also wanted a title shot. This led to a brawl and number-one Contender’s Fatal 4 Way Elimination Match featuring the trio and Belair. Belair won the melee and became the official challenger for the Women’s Title. Now the EST of WWE is coming to get back her gold from The MAN at WWE Extreme Rules 2021.
