Liv Morgan will put her SmackDown Women’s Title on the line against Ronda Rousey this weekend at WWE Extreme Rules 2022. The latest upcoming WWE premium live event will go down from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, marking the toughest defense for the champion since it will be an Extreme Rules match where literally anything will be allowed in the match.

Given the history of Ronda Rousey and the “baddest woman on the planet” shtick, no one really sees Morgan having any chance to retain her title at Extreme Rules 2022. Rousey herself claimed to eat her alive after she gets unleashed in such a no holds barred environment but the champion can’t wait to prove her wrong.

During this past episode of Smackdown, Morgan made her way to the ring after Rousey’s quick win over Natalya and brawled with Rousey, showing that she’s ready for Extreme Rules 2022. They fought over a baseball bat and brawled all around the ringside and eventually, a bunch of security teams had to be brought to the scene to break things up.

Extreme Rules 2022 going to be an acid test for Liv Morgan

Following what transpired on the September 30 episode, Liv Morgan was found speaking to a WWE Digital Exclusive where she was counting the days until Extreme Rules 2022 so that she could earn the respect of Ronda Rousey,

“I can’t wait. That is the thing, I literally cannot wait. I am counting down the days until Extreme Rules. I heard what Ronda said and she’s right. She is the most dangerous unarmed woman on the planet and she wondered what she could do with a bat. Well, I wondered that too, so I brought her one, and what did she do? She walked away. She still doesn’t respect me. But at Extreme Rules, she will.”

It’s interesting to note that it was Morgan herself who picked the Extreme Rules Match stipulation for the rematch against Rousey at Extreme Rules 2022 since she wanted to showcase her full potential to the UFC Hall of Famer.

The 28-year-old WWE Superstar does feel that it’s been a long-time coming as she had already beaten Rousey, twice. First, she took the title from Rousey at the Money in the Bank by cashing in the MITB briefcase on Rousey. This resulted in a rematch between the pair at Summerslam where the referee’s controversial decision helped the champion retain. Only time will tell whether Morgan will find a way to escape Rousey’s beating at Extreme Rules 2022.
