After Triple H introduced the World Heavyweight Championship in the WWE for the Raw brand, he mentioned that it will be the title for a fighting champion. It will be defended anytime and in any place unlike the undisputed WWE Universal Championship held by Roman Reigns. That being said, the first top world title defense on Raw in almost one and a half years, has now been confirmed.

Seth Rollins won the World Heavyweight Championship at Night of Champions by defeating AJ Styles in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Now, he’ll go through his first televised title defense this coming Monday on Raw. Rollins pointed out through a tweet that a Men’s World Championship was last defended on Raw in 2021 by Big E but that stat was about to change during the June 5 episode.

First World Heavyweight Championship Defense Announced For June 5 WWE Raw Episode 2

It should also be noted that according to a report by PWInsider, Seth Rollins will also defend his WWE World Heavyweight Championship when WWE returns to Westchester County Center in White Plains, New York, tonight, June 3 for an untelevised live event.

His opponent is going to be The Miz who previously experiences two world championship wins of his own. Going by the new title match announcement on Raw, it’s evident that Miz won’t win the world title, tonight. In general, titles don’t change hands on such house shows.

Over on this week’s episode of Raw, Rollins pinned Priest to win a tag team match where he teamed up with Styles to defeat Priest and Finn Balor in the main event. This came just a night after Rollins’ World Heavyweight Championship match win at Night of Champions. His opponent Styles was present on Raw to congratulate him.
