WWE NXT North American Title will be on the line, next Tuesday night on NXT 2.0 episode that takes place from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. The match will be a Triple Threat encounter where the champion won’t have to get involved in the decisive pinfall to submission to lose his title.
This week’s opening match witnessed Tony D’Angelo defeating Dexter Lumis. After the match, Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams came out and attacked Dexter. They targeted his arm with a Steel Chair, but Johnny Gargano hit the ring and chased them off. Hayes and Williams retreated and ripped up Lumis’ painting at the ringside area.

Then in a backstage promo, Johnny Gargano said Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams made the feud personal as they tried to scr** up with his family, and wanted to face the two of them, right there. Pete Dunne then interrupted and said that Johnny wasn’t going to get a WWE NXT North American Title Match before him since Dunne pinned Carmelo last week.
Hayes confronted the two of them and said that he and Trick are making Dunne and Gargano relevant. Hayes talked himself up but Dunne told him to shut up, and talked about how the three of them would square off in a Triple Threat match. That being said, NXT North American Champion Carmelo Hayes will defend against Pete Dunne and Johnny Gargano in a Triple Threat. This will be Hayes’ first title defense since winning the belt from Isaiah “Swerve” Scott last month.

WWE NXT 2.0: Non-title match announced for NXT Champion
Next week’s WWE NXT will also feature NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa vs. Grayson Waller in a non-title matchup. Ciampa vs. Waller was announced after Waller appeared on “Lashing Out” with Lash Legend, where he took a shot at the veteran wrestlers who came up through the independent scene and may have worked for a “hot dog and a handshake” as payment.
Waller insulted the veterans by saying that the idea of achieving a boyhood dream is dead as it’s all about likes and follows these days. Ciampa then responded by calling out Waller a “little b—h ass” and going on about how there’s a lack of integrity and respect in the locker room. He wanted to stand up against the new crop of talents to confirm this matchup.
At this point, WWE NXT is also featuring a feud between Waller and LA Knight right now, while the Tomasso Ciampa vs. Bron Breakker feud is also continuing, hinting at another title match.
