The Tokyo Olympic gold medal winner from the US, Gable Steveson is set to attend WWE SummerSlam 2021. The annual pay-per-view is scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 21 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. The announcement of the Olympian attending the show fueled up his arrival in the WWE.

As reported earlier, Gable Steveson clinched a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics last week to become the first U.S. heavyweight to win in the men’s freestyle 125kg event since 1992. Afterward, he has spoken with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated and confirmed that he’ll be heading into SummerSlam 2021 to watch WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns defending his title against John Cena in the main event.

“I’m heading over to Vegas to watch the champ Roman Reigns do his thing,” he said. “John Cena is great, but he’s still going to have to acknowledge Roman Reigns.”

If he does sign up with WWE, then he also wanted to get himself aligned with Heyman, that’s becoming a “Paul Heyman Guy”,

“If I ever go to WWE, I’d be a ‘Paul Heyman Guy.’Heyman is a legend. We’d be two people doing great things, and that would be a tough team to beat. And I’ve known Brock since I was in high school. He’s been there for me for a long time, making sure I do things the right way and put my best foot forward.”

The fact that Gable Steveson is a big fan of WWE and is interested in working for the company could be an inducer for a potential sign-in. But he could also return to the University of Minnesota for his senior year after winning NCAA Heavyweight Championship, this past season. He also shared the Dan Hodge Trophy for the best collegiate wrestler in America.
