Until last year, Goldberg has been utilized on WWE television as a part-time talent to be a marquee attraction in bigger events. We haven’t seen him on WWE TV since January of 2022 which keeps the speculations running about his WWE career. WWE apparently owes him another match, possibly for retirement but that may not be happening, anytime soon.
At this point, Goldberg doesn’t have any deal or match left in the WWE, making him a free agent. The negative thing is that the two sides have not been working on a deal with each other which could drag the veteran back to the squared circle.
WWE Wrestlemania 39: Undisputed Tag Team Title Match And More Announced
Sean Sapp reported behind Fightful’s paywall that Goldberg’s WWE contract came to an end in 2022. It was noted in the report that his last match with the WWE was against Roman Reigns at the Elimination Chamber event in Saudi Arabia. That was the final match on his deal with the company and he was all wrapped up in December 2022.
The former WCW World Heavyweight Champion appeared on 929ESPN radio in December and said he wants to wrestle again at some point. Goldberg emphasized the fact that he doesn’t want to close his career with a loss to The Tribal Chief at Elimination Chamber,
“You never say never, especially in wrestling, and they owe me one. That’s all I can say. I made a deal with the devil and I did my job, and they owe me a retirement match.
At the end of the day, at 56, it’s not something where I’m sitting by the phone waiting for a call. I’ve got a few ideas of how to do it on my own, possibly in Israel.”
