WWE’s next special event under the NXT banner is the Great American Bash 2023 which will be hosted as a premium live event. Instead of being a themed weekly episode like in the previous two years, a separate pay-per-view has been planned and it appears a title from the main roster will be defended in it.
Seth Rollins is the World Heavyweight Champion on the Raw brand who has already been challenged to a title match by Bron Breakker from WWE NXT. In an update from WWFOldSchool, it was stated that Seth Rollins vs. Breakker for the World Title is expected to take place at the Great American Bash 2023 premium live event, which will take place on July 30th at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park, Texas.
Top WWE Raw Star Expected To Return Before Money In The Bank 2023
At this point, Seth Rollins is currently involved in a feud with Judgment Day on Raw and it will produce a title match with the leader of the faction, Finn Balor. He has officially been announced to defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Finn Balor at Money in the Bank 2023 at The O2 Arena in London, England on July 1st.
Seth Rollins to be a part of NXT Great American Bash 2023
Afterward, Rollins is expected to defend the title at Summerslam in August if he remains the champion by then. In the meantime, this title match against Breakker has been revealed to go down at the Great American Bash 2023 which happens just a few days before Summerslam.
Taking place outside the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, the Great American Bash 2023 will continue a trend for WWE NXT doing PLEs outside of the state of Florida, which started with Vengeance Day and then continued with NXT Stand and Deliver during WrestleMania 39 weekend. NXT head honcho, Shawn Michaels had already stated that the brand has big plans for expansion in the future.
WWE has been using multiple main roster stars on NXT programming which is just part of the expansion plan of NXT due to WWE CEO Nick Khan’s strategy. So involving a top star like Seth Rollins at Great American Bash 2023 doesn’t come as a surprise as Nick wants NXT to be a legitimate 3rd brand of WWE but not just the developmental brand of the WWE.
