Saraya was one of the high-profile imports from WWE that AEW has acquired in recent memory. Due to her popularity in and out of the WWE Universe, her entry into the Tony Khan-owned brand was a big deal for a lot of fans. After her initial beef with Dr. Britt Baker, she adopted a fresh heel character with two more former WWE Superstars to showcase her new side.
As seen on TV and on social media, Saraya is certainly in a much better shape and mindset than she was only a few years ago while in the WWE. Now that she’s wrestling again, it did help in a big way to get done from those bitter days when she was dealing with an intoxication problem. This side of hers was admitted, previously in interviews.
“I Loved The Camaraderie. I Loved The Family Aspect,” Ex Divas Champion Revisits WWE Stint
We got a glimpse of Saraya’s personal life in the past through WWE Total Divas. However, it appears that she was not very much comfortable in the filming process as she had a very good reason for staying away from those camera lenses. This is also the reason that AEW might haven’t involved her in their brand-new reality TV series.
‘WWE Divas’ Not A Negative Term Per Famous Wrestling Personality
Saraya barely remembers her time on Total Divas
While speaking to Busted Open Radio, Saraya admitted that she’s “barely in” AEW All Access. She has become a bit shy around reality television shows as she never had the best experiences on WWE Total Divas. Remembering those days, the former anti-Diva noted how she used to be under the influence of drinks at that point,
“I’m barely on it. If I’m being honest, I’m barely on it. I’m kind of scared of reality shows… Yeah, I was drinking the whole time [on Total Divas]. I can’t remember half of it. I’m a little intimidated by reality shows.”
Saraya went through a lot in her career since her adolescence days and this is the reason why a full-length feature film was chalked out of it. Getting over those tougher days, we can only hope that she’s in a much better place now.
After staying away from in-ring competition for almost five years, Saraya made her return to TV at AEW Grand Slam in September 2022. The youngest WWE Divas Champion had to retire shortly due to a career-threatening neck injury but neck fusion surgeries helped her to overcome the issues.
