Even in her wildest dreams, Liv Morgan couldn’t ever imagine winning a title by pinning her idol Trish Stratus. But proving the “never say never” phrase right for the pro-wrestling industry, it happened on WWE programming, a week after Wrestlemania as Trish turned heel to remind everyone that she’s the Greatest of All Time.
After Wrestlemania 39, WWE Hall of Famer Lita was supposed to defend the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles alongside Becky Lynch on April 10 WWE Raw episode, but she didn’t make it to the match due to an attack by an anonymous person. Trish Stratus filled in for her, but she ultimately lost those titles to the team of Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. Then Trish turned on Lynch to set up their next program.

Interestingly, the pinfall was earned by Liv Morgan over Trish Stratus via roll-up which was a shocking outcome on WWE TV. Going by the former Smackdown Women’s Champion’s words on WWE’s The Bump on YouTube, she has now become the first person to pin the WWE Hall of Famer in over sixteen years.

Liv Morgan felt bad for Becky Lynch after Trish Stratus’ attack
Also, the feeling of pinning her idol on live WWE TV has brought mixed feelings for Liv Morgan. Remembering the memorable moment from that title-winning night, she stated that she felt bad for what Becky Lynch had to go through. But from Trish’s perspective, it was meant to happen as she pulled off a classic turn-on move to steal the spotlight on herself.
“I’ll take that accolade, thank you! I’ve looked up to Trish, we’ve been on ‘The Bump’ together. It was an absolute honor, but after [Stratus’s heel turn after the match], I’m a little more like [malevolent laughing] about it.” Liv Morgan exclaimed.
“I hate it for Becky, like my qualm about it is that Becky did not deserve that. And so I feel for that, but otherwise I feel like this is very typical Trish — to me at least. “She loves the attention. She loves the spotlight on her.”
At this stage, Liv Morgan is certainly one of the most organically beloved female WWE Superstars in the company. She worked hard for the past several years to earn the status of a multi-time champion in the WWE and prove everyone wrong who had ever doubted her in the past. Down the road, she certainly hopes to go back to the singles title picture.
